Kerry London Underwriting Fantasy Premier League Competition 2019/20

Thursday 8th August
Kerry London Underwriting Fantasy Premier League Competition 2019/20

Well it’s that time again. After what feels like a mere two-week break, the Premier League returns on Friday night.  For some it’s been away too long, for others its return provides unbridled misery.  Wherever you stand on the scale of excitement to dread, why not adopt the much-used cliche; if you can’t beat them, join them. Who knows, if you enter our annual Fantasy League tournament you may be able to go one better than joining them, you may well beat them.

Like last year, we’re inviting you to join the Kerry London Underwriting League to be in with the chance to win a bounty of Love2Shop vouchers.  Even if football’s not your thing, most of us like to shop with some credit in our pockets. So, just sign up and select auto-complete to enter a team.  You can find out more about the prizes below.

Picking your players

Last season, four of the top five scoring players came from the red side of Merseyside. Only Raheem Sterling managed to break the Liverpool stranglehold, finishing second with a total of 234 points.  Top of the tree, unsurprisingly, was Mo Salah with 259 points.  He continues to delight in everything he does, but his price is anything but a bargain – he’ll set you back a cool £12.5 million.  With an average budget of £6.6 million per player, you’ll need to make significant savings elsewhere to have him in your team.

It also pays to look at who other players have picked in their team.  Again, Liverpool dominate this list, with three of the top five.  Virgil “the beast” Van Dijk is currently the most picked player, with almost 1 in 2 managers plumping for his rock like defending and chance to grab a few goals.

Players who look good value

Three players stick out in the bargain stakes.  Bernardo Silva of Manchester City, who some pundits consider to be one of the best midfielders in the world, is a snip at £8 million – and one in four managers agree. He offers the potential for goals and assists.  Moving down the country to London, Wilfred Zaha looks like a good deal at just £7 million.  He may yet switch clubs, but even if he remains at Crystal Palace you can expect points aplenty.

Finally, back up the M40 and along the M42 will see you arrive In Wolverhampton.  The black and gold’s striker Raul Jiminez looks very good value at £7.5 million.  He had a good first season in the Premier League last year and has been on fire in pre-season.  Wolves have already started their season with a Europa League qualifying match that saw Jiminez bag a brace of goals.

Good luck to all

All that remains is for us to wish you good luck in your quest for Premier League domination.  We’ll keep you updated throughout the season and very much look forward to handing out some prizes as we go.

Prizes will be awarded at the end of the season and there will also be a monthly prize.

1st Place = £150 of Love2Shop Vouchers
2nd Place = £100 of Love2Shop Vouchers
3rd Place = £50 of Love2Shop Vouchers

There will also be 10 monthly prizes of £20 Love2Shop vouchers for the team that gains the most points during that calendar month – so you don’t need to be top of the league to win a monthly prize.  If there is a tie at the end of the calendar month, all players with the highest score will receive the prize.
